On 9/9/05, Ali's owner had taken him outside for some fresh air, given him a big bowl of water and tied him up to a "front proch" area of the office building. When he returned Ali was gone, and the front of his office building had been spray painted "SPCA 9/9/05".

Description: Spice is a black, brown, and tan Chihuahua. She has a mole on the right side of her face with a piece of hair sticking out of it. She was wearing a red collar.
Last seen: 2109 Harmony St (Orleans Parish), New Orleans, 70115 with her mother, Mama Suggie, and 2 puppies. The dogs were reported to have been running around the neighborhood and were rescued either from 2109 or 2107 Harmony St. They could also have been picked up on cross streets Washington or St. Charles. Mama Suggie (LA22185) was rescued on 9/25, went to Small Animal Rescue-Baton Rouge, and has since been reunited with owner. Though it had been reported at one time that Spice had been returned to her owner, Spice is still missing. Description: Jasmine is a purebred chow (red/tan/cinnamon) with some white on her muzzle and a tail that curls and lays on her back. She's on the small side - about 22" at the shoulder. She has a problem with hotspots and was probably found with some bare spots around her buttocks and back legs, but in the cooler months she doesn't have them. She tends to be reserved - not outgoing, and she may be a little cranky - loves to growl but does not bite.
Last seen: Jasmine's owners were forced to leave her behind at the Superdome on September 2nd with another dog (recently reunited). Jasmine was tied up with a reddish/orange collar and a chain leash at the Superdome (Orleans Parish). No tags or chips. The owners were forced to leave both their dogs behind with dozens of other dogs, as FEMA wouldn't transfer them. Her human dad was assured she’d be well cared for. That was the last time he saw her. One of the dogs went to Los Angeles, California with a group called "New Leash on Life", who say they did not receive Jasmine.

Description: Muffin's fur is reddish-golden-brown with black tips, and it is short/medium length and smooth. Her coat is more like a Shepherd's than a Chow's. Her ears are short and half turned down, although sometime one of them stands up a little. She looks sad at times. She is sweet and shy, but loving. She will follow you around. She can be territorial with other animals at times, but not with humans. She is not as red as she looks in the second photo. She was probably microchipped at Lamar Dixon. Muffin is a very sweet and loving girl.
Last seen: Left with 4 other dogs at Lamar-Dixon in Gonzales, LA; Muffin is the only one not yet recovered by owner. Muffin was lost in the system from Lamar Dixon. Her # there was 2031. Her record doesn't indicate where she was shipped. Her owner wants to find her and be reunited with her. $500 Reward for Muffin's safe return.

Description: Roxie is chocolate brown with some gray on her face and several old age spots. She has been spayed but has had one litter of pups in the past. She has dewclaws on her front paws and long black nails with a little bit of white in between the toes. The only distinctive mark is a little growth at the base of her nose where the hairline starts; it looks like a tick, which could have come off. She is a slow walker and it might be hard for her to get up if she lies down for too long. Roxie was wearing a choker chain collar with rabies and ID tag. The rabies tag was from Paris Rd Animal Clinic. The ID tag had the owner's address, 3312 Corinne Ave., on it. Since leather or cloth would give her a rash, any leather or cloth collar placed on her by rescue people would probably be off by now.
Last seen: Left on dry ground at Judge Perez Drive next to Jubilee grocery in Chalmette, LA (St. Bernard Parish) and was probably rescued on September 16 or September 22, 2005. The owner THINKS she was sent to Lamar-Dixon because her littermate was taken there and then sent to LSU.

Last seen: Yin was in a boat moored to eastbound 6-10 Franklin Ave exit ramp in Orleans Parish. The owner left Yin and the boat to help sick passengers get to the dome. When the owner returned both the boat and Yin were gone.

Description: Kobe has a docked tail but his ears are natural. Both dew claws are clipped. When the hurricane hit he had a cold in the eyes and mange for which he was being treated.
Last seen: Kobe was left at 2931 Paris Avenue, New Orleans 70119. The dog was still there in late September with plenty of food and water and in good health. When the owner returned a few weeks after the hurricane Kobe was not there and no note was left by possible rescuers. A rottweiller was picked up several blocks away from Paris Avenue but appears to be "lost in the system". No photo of Kobe is available but he looks very similar to BF 710 (PF 43768).
